HVAC TAB Services : (Testing, Adjusting and Balancing)

The primary goal of commissioning is to ensure that a building’s HVAC systems operate exactly as the owner intended. According to ASHRAE, the commissioning process is “a capable way of verifying that a facility and its systems meet the Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR).”

Today, HVAC commissioning is widely recognized as an essential process for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of HVAC systems in commercial buildings.

The term “commission”, as defined by Merriam-Webster, refers to “a group of people who have been given the official job of finding information about something or controlling something.” In the HVAC context, commissioning ensures that all systems and components of a building or industrial plant are:

  • Designed in alignment with project requirements
  • Installed correctly and to specification
  • Tested for functionality and performance
  • Operated efficiently and safely
  • Maintained to ensure long-term reliability

In simple terms, HVAC commissioning provides assurance that the system will perform as expected, delivering comfort, efficiency, and reliability for the owner and end users.
